  • Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Operations Manual and according to Highmark’s strategic goals
  • Directly supervise and provide guidance to Regional Managers, Senior Regional Managers, Construction Management and Administrative Assistant to ensure that properties meet or exceed approved budgets
  • Design, implement, and promote innovative programs to increase operational efficiencies and profitability
  • Monitor and review financial reporting
  • Work closely with Asset Management to provide due diligence oversight, analysis and transition assistance during the acquisition and disposition process
  • Respond appropriately to escalated complaints by residents or prospective residents
  • Stay up-to-date of changes in Fair Housing laws, rules, and regulations concerning apartment leasing and management
  • Assist with recruiting quality candidates to join Highmark
  • Participate in community activities, network groups, and related professional organizations in order to be aware of ongoing changes within the multi-family industry
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Operations

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting preferred
  • Industry accreditations preferred – CAM, CAPS, CPM
  • 10+ years experience managing multiple portfolios within the multi-family industry
  • Strong knowledge of budgetary preparation and management
  • Ability to independently assume responsibility for the overall needs of the Operations Department
  • Good public/employee relation skills, problem-solving, analysis, and decision-making ability
  • Good oral/written communication skills, participatory “team management” leadership style
  • Good time management/organizational skills with strong analytical and reasoning abilities
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, and other property management software
  • Willingness to travel as required
