Managing Director, Sponsor & Direct Coverage - PNC Business Credit Position Overview PNC Business Credit is a leading provider of flexible financing solutions for private and public companies, investment banks, and private equity firms, offering private credit, cash flow revolvers and term loans, software/ARR lending, ABL facilities, and other senior secured products. Based in Dallas, the team originates, structures, and executes sponsor backed leveraged buyouts as well as sponsor and non-sponsor backed recapitalizations and refinancing's through long standing company, sponsor, and advisor relationships. The Managing Director will originate and lead debt financing transactions sourced via top-tier private equity clients and internal corporate and commercial banking referrals, overseeing the full investment lifecycle—from sourcing and underwriting through documentation and closing. The role provides broad visibility with senior leadership and significant influence on team processes and culture. Key Responsibilities • Lead coverage and relationship management of large cap to lower middle market PE firms to source, qualify, and structure new financing opportunities for PE backed deals. • Maintain relationships with direct lending firms for partnership and co lend opportunities. • Collaborate with internal corporate and commercial bank partners to source and execute financing opportunities with private and public companies. • Partner closely with product groups (Private Credit, Capital Markets, Technology Finance/ARR, ABL, AR Securitization, etc.). • Analyze and qualify initial deal opportunity, assess fit, and recommend pursuit of transaction. • Prepare and present screening materials, credit analyses, and term sheet recommendations to senior leadership. • Deliver, pitch, and negotiate term sheets; lead negotiations of commercial and legal terms. • Manage due diligence workstreams across underwriting, legal, and syndication. • Guide junior bankers in evaluating, structuring, and screening opportunities. • Maintain market intelligence on sponsor activity, M&A trends, and competitive dynamics. • Represent PNC Business Credit at sponsor meetings, conferences, and industry events. • Manage pipeline and activity within the CRM platform.PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance.
