Kennedy Restoration is a trusted leader in emergency restoration services, providing commercial and residential customers with rapid response and expert solutions for water, fire, mold, storm, and environmental damage. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional customer service, quality workmanship, and peace of mind when our clients need us most.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated Commercial Business Development Representative to expand our commercial presence by developing new relationships, strengthening strategic partnerships, and driving long-term revenue growth throughout the Portland market.

Position Overview

The Commercial Business Development Representative is responsible for generating new business opportunities by proactively identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with commercial property managers, facility managers, building owners, asset managers, insurance professionals, and other key referral partners.

This is a true outside sales and business development role focused on prospecting, networking, and relationship management. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a hunter mentality who enjoys opening new doors, building trust with customers, and creating long-term partnerships that generate commercial restoration opportunities.

Success in this role requires strong communication skills, a strategic approach to territory management, and the ability to consistently generate qualified opportunities through face-to-face meetings, networking events, cold outreach, and exceptional customer service.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a strategic territory sales plan focused on growing Kennedy Restoration's commercial market share.
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new commercial accounts through cold calling, networking, referrals, in-person visits, and industry events.
  • Build strong relationships with commercial property managers, facility managers, building engineers, asset managers, property owners, HOAs, insurance professionals, risk managers, and commercial contractors.
  • Schedule and conduct daily face-to-face meetings with prospective and existing clients to generate new business opportunities.
  • Educate customers on Kennedy Restoration's emergency response capabilities, restoration services, and value proposition.
  • Develop long-term partnerships that position Kennedy Restoration as the preferred restoration provider for commercial properties.
  • Maintain consistent communication with existing referral partners while continually expanding the customer base through proactive prospecting.
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure exceptional customer experiences and seamless service delivery from project initiation through completion.
  • Work closely with Marketing to support campaigns, client appreciation events, educational seminars, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  • Represent Kennedy Restoration professionally at industry associations, chamber events, property management organizations, and community networking events.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately document customer interactions, opportunities, and follow-up activities within the CRM system.
  • Track individual sales activity, appointments, referrals, pipeline progression, and revenue performance to meet or exceed established goals and KPIs.
  • Stay informed on market conditions, competitive activity, industry trends, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to leadership to help improve sales strategies and customer experience.
  • Support company initiatives, contribute to team success, and serve as a positive ambassador for the Kennedy Restoration brand.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of outside sales, business development, account management, or relationship management experience.
  • Proven ability to generate new business through prospecting, networking, and relationship building.
  • Experience selling to commercial customers is strongly preferred.
  • Restoration, construction, facilities, property management, roofing, HVAC, plumbing, environmental services, insurance, or related industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales goals and performance metrics.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities with the capability to manage a sales territory independently.
  • Ability to build credibility and establish trusted advisor relationships with commercial decision-makers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
