Job description

FINANCIAL ANALYST
Department: Finance
Classification: Exempt
Supervisor Title: Accounting Manager
Safety Sensitive: No
Remote Status: Hybrid with Supervisor's Approval
General Summary:
Under general direction of the Accounting Manager, the Financial Analyst is responsible for processing financial transactions, reconciliations, and maintaining and updating accounting records related to revenues, accounts receivable, banking, and budget. Generates invoices, financial reports, and distributes tokens and passes to the sales team. Acts as primary Finance and Accounting department's budget liaison to internal DTC departments, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists in developing DTC's annual budget, tracking budget, and periodic budget reporting to stakeholders
  • Assist in recommending and resolving budget variances
  • Periodic general ledger account reconciliations
  • Monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Attends to all pass and token sales in coordination with sales team
  • Assists in preparing deposit for daily sales and all incoming checks in coordination with Payroll Accountant/Manager
  • Reviews and reconciles reports on all pass and token sales
  • Maintains inventory of all passes by serial number and distributes to sales team
  • Reviews sales team documentation of mail order and in-person purchases of individual and bulk passes or tokens
  • Prepares invoices for all sales on account (pass/tokens, advertising, security services, etc.)
  • Actively solicits feedback from colleagues and supervisor on opportunities for growth and development
  • Retrieves files and documents from the designated finance folders and drives on the company network.
  • May utilize approved external programs essential to the finance department’s regular operations.
  • Incorporates safety into all aspects of job functions
  • Must work within established methods, practices, procedures, policies of the DTC and federal or state laws
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited College or University
  • 5 years of experience in accounting
  • Experience with PC computer operations and software
  • Familiarity with general ledger
  • Combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum requirements
Preferred:
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice
  • 3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Essential:
  • Must have working knowledge of computerized accounting system
  • Good math and clerical aptitude
  • Must be able to complete assigned tasks within allotted time paying close attention to detail
  • Ability to accomplish statistical analysis and generate related reports
  • Requires extensive computer input and good typing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
Working Environment:
  • The physical environment requires the employee to work inside
  • The majority of the work will be in an office, but the position may require work outside of an office setting
  • May be requested to work outside of regular office hours for special program events
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to perform the following with or without reasonable accommodations:
  • Walk, stand, sit, speak, hear and use of manual dexterity
