Job description

The Billing Specialist is responsible for the monthly billing and follow-up function for the residents of the facilities from the corporate office.  Billing includes Medicare, Medicaid, and Insurances as assigned.
This role is on-site at our corporate headquarters in Southfield, MI.

Responsibilities:

  • Review facility census reports prior to billing.
  • Review individual resident accounts and submit claims to the appropriate payers.
  • Review aged receivable reports and remittances for discrepancies.
  • Communicate with facilities any issues or concerns related to payer information.
  • Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains the privacy and dignity of residents and interacts with payers in a professional manner that displays knowledge of accounts.
  • Reports all concerns to the appropriate Billing Supervisor.
  • Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
  • Maintain acceptable level of collection percentages.
  • Record accurate and detailed collection notes in system software.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
  • One year experience in an Accounting role.
  • Computer knowledge
