Shift/Schedule: 1st Shift| 6:00 AM - 2:00PM

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Sanitation Manager, the Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining master sanitation schedules and proper sanitation standards by performing duties according to SSOP and documenting all activities to ensure the highest standards of food safety, quality and compliance. This will include following all GMP, safety, and company policies.

What You’ll Do:
  • Safely follow all SSOP provide for task at hand.
  • Responsible for the cleaning of interior and exterior of the plant during all weather conditions.
  • Interior tasks will include the cleaning of walls, floors, ceilings, air vents, lights, overhead piping, and exterior surfaces of equipment used in the preparation/packaging/transferring of product.
  • Perform emergency response activity including, but not limited to chemical and water spills, and tank cleaning.
  • Perform cleaning at elevations including working from ladders, scissor lifts, and scaffolding.
  • Responsible for the removal of trash in dumpster style containers with forklifts, and the cleaning of those containers.
  • Perform cleaning utilizing a COP tank.
  • Empty all trash cans, clean receptacles and replace liners.
  • Responsible cleaning the compactor shroud.
  • Maintain chemical cages in an organized and safe manner.
  • Maintain inventories & stock supplies.
  • Perform chemical titrations.
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of sanitation practices, HACCP principals, chemical usages and application in a food environment to drive process improvements.
  • Participate in Gehl trainings, meetings, and team building.
  • Document all completed tasks on a Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and in physically demanding environments
  • Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1+ year of sanitation or cleaning experience preferred
  • Principles and practices of sanitation in a food processing plant.
