For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, and technical support to the Environmental Protection Agency through the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program.

Benefits: Paid Health Insurance Premium for positions budgeted at 60+ hours per pay period, Accrued Vacation and Sick Leave, Paid Federal Holidays, and optional Vision and Dental Insurance available for positions budgeted at 35+ hours per pay period.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in Chemistry, Biology, or related science OR MA/MS Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related science

Duties:

Review product chemistry data which is submitted with applications for the registration and re-registration of Antimicrobial Products. Provide expert level chemistry evaluations that are highly creative and specialized, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive with a high degree of independent initiative and judgment in chemistry. Duties include providing expert advice and recommendations regarding policy, science, and pesticide regulatory statutes and requirements with the highest level of professional expertise. A substantial number of the assignment duties fall within these types of activities.

  • Applies expert knowledge of the principles, theories and practices of chemistry as related to product chemistry assessments of antimicrobial pesticides. Performs analysis of product chemistry data summitted with applications for the registration/reregistration of antimicrobials pesticides.   35%
  • Independently prepare complex data evaluation reports for products chemistry reviews. Prepares complex technical responses to a variety of inquiries. Attends meetings with internal and external customers.   35%
  • Interacting and collaborating with regulatory colleagues as necessary to resolve scientific issues and/or to support regulatory decision-making.   20%
  • Participating activities within Regulatory Management and Science Branch, Antimicrobial Division, and Office of Pesticide Programs as necessary, including meetings, scientific discussions, trainings, etc.   10%
