Deloitte's Global Trade Advisory (GTA) practice helps importers and exporters improve trade compliance, increase process efficiency, and identify opportunities across global supply chains. As part of a global network of professionals, the team supports clients in strengthening import and export operations across jurisdictions.

In this role, you will support the implementation of global trade technology and trade compliance data and analytics solutions while building client service experience across industries.

Work you'll do

As a Tax Consultant on the Global Trade Advisory (GTA) team, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing and automating international trade management procedures for clients
  • Gathering business and regulatory requirements and conducting fit/gap analyses
  • Supporting the design and configuration of automated import and export compliance solutions
  • Coordinating with developers to build, test, document, and enhance global trade technology solutions and data workflows
  • Training business, technical, and operational users and supporting teams serving US and multinational companies on import and export compliance matters

Required:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and expected to graduate by Summer 2027 or have completed a bachelor's degree or higher in information technology, computer science, economics, engineering, mathematics, political science, international studies, supply chain, transportation/logistics, or statistics 
  • Strong academic track record (3.0 cumulative GPA required) 
  • You must reside within a commutable distance of your assigned office with the ability to commute daily, if required. You can expect to co-locate on average 2-3 times a week with variations based on types of work/projects and client locations 
  • Ability to travel up to 80%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve 
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available 
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment 
  • The start date for this position will be Summer 2027

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in information technology, computer science, economics, engineering, mathematics, political science, international studies, supply chain, transportation/logistics, or statistics 
  • Experience with US and non-US import and export compliance regulations 
  • Experience with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), including SAP ECC 6.0 or SAP S/4HANA 
  • Experience with Oracle or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems 
  • Experience with Global Trade Management software such as SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, Integration Point, or Amber Road 
  • Preferred GPA of 3.25 or higher
  • Coursework, internship, or work experience involving data management and data analysis
