YSZ High School for Girls is seeking an inspired and inspiring Judaics teacher and

Mechanechet. We look for teachers who are passionate about their subject and capable of passing on that passion in the classroom. The ideal candidate will be able to provide both the essential skills in text and midrash, and innovative teaching techniques that bring subjects such as Chumash, Navi, and Parsha to life for today’s students. Mechanechets also act as grade advisors, meeting with students one on one and collaborating with the administration to support social, emotional, academic and spiritual growth.

We seek educators who value collaboration, professional learning and community. The candidate should be comfortable teaching with technology and have ample experience in differentiating instruction. Mechanechets also join all school programming, Yemei Iyun, Shabbatons, and events.

All Judaics teachers should have strong Hebrew textual skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Warm, enthusiastic educator who can serve as a role model to teenage girls.

- Committed to a growth mindset.

- Open to or trained in student-centered learning techniques.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong oral and written proficiency in Lashon Hakodesh.

- Extensive educational background in Judaic Studies.

- BA in Judaic Studies and/or Education or its equivalent.

- 1-3 years teaching experience preferred.
