Temporary Guidance Councelor at Hanover Central High School - covering Maternity Leave

Sept 14, 2026 - June 1, 2027

Qualifications:

Indiana Teacher's Certification- Counselor, All Schools as per the Indiana Department of Education Office of Educator Licensing and Development.  Possesses good moral character, good judgment, sufficient physical and mental abilities to perform assigned duties.  Preferred experience working with studetst in a school setting.  Operational knowledge of word processing, Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheet, Office 2000, student data programs, miscellaneous web based programs, typing, organizational, and time management skills as well as professional telephone and public relations skills. Good oral and written communication skills.


 

Job Duties:

To guide and counsel students in grades 9-12 to actively and aggressively market students for vocational and career opportunities and higher education by seeking any/all scholarship opportunities available; monitor student success in high school so each and every student might reach their personal/professional goals; to follow up on graduates of Hanover Central High School; assist students in preparing for minimum career path expectancies and for marketing students for post high school opportunities whether they are apprenticeships, community college admission, or employment.  The expectation is that each and every student is engaged in a career path and is on that path when they graduate from Hanover Central High School.
