Job description

We are a leading home services provider, and due to our continued growth we are looking for a responsible and reliable individual to serve as an On Road Delivery Supervisor. You will supervise and lead delivery driver teams, which includes communication and enforcement of company procedures and policies, employee development and progressive counseling. Above all, you will use your communication and active listening skills to provide exceptional service on delivery observations/ride-alongs.

Responsibilities:
Your charge will be to build and maintain a work environment within the operations team characterized by high expectations, high internal motivation, accountability, open communication and teamwork.
Specific duties include:
  • Assists Delivery Manager in various daily district delivery operations and duties
  • Provides customer service support as necessary; responds to customer inquiries and problems in a timely manner; resolves customer issues related to oil delivery as needed
  • Meets all assigned delivery objectives
  • Enforces operational procedures concerning deliveries and safe operation of the trucks and proper utilization of the personal protection equipment (PPE)
  • Utilizes performance reports to assess productivity and takes corrective action as needed
  • Ensures compliance with all company HazMat, DOT and other regulatory guidelines within the District
  • Performs a minimum of 3 weekly Ride Along/On Job Observations. Additional observations may be required as needed per driver
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and developing employees. Appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving employee problems as appropriate
  • Investigates incidents, identifies causes and takes corrective action to eliminate reoccurrences

Requirements:
As an On Road Delivery Supervisor, you must be knowledgeable, pleasant and professional. You must possess the ability to function equally well in both a team environment and as a leader. You must be highly detail-oriented and focused with a flexible and adaptable nature. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and active listening skills as well as the ability to interact effectively with both customers and coworkers.
Specific qualifications include:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Exceptional Leadership skills/previous management experience (Petroleum management experience preferred)
  • Experience working with DOT guidelines and regulations
  • Versed in Sarbanes Oxley regulations pertaining to all areas of Delivery
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet the company's motor vehicle policy
  • Valid Class A or B CDL driver's license with Tank & HazMat endorsements preferred
  • Must be regularly available and willing to work the hours necessary to meet business need
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
