Full-Time Armed Security Officer – San Francisco, CA

Schedule

  • Thursday – Sunday
  • 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Full-Time Armed Position

Pay Rate

$26.00 per hour

Position Summary

The Armed Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and regulatory compliance of the premises, staff, clients, and property. This role includes monitoring entrances and exits, conducting patrols, deterring theft or unauthorized access, and responding to incidents in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.

Officers must maintain a high standard of professionalism, situational awareness, discretion, and customer service while maintaining a visible armed presence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide a visible armed security presence at entrances and high-risk areas
  • Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized individuals are permitted entry
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols of the property and surrounding areas
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, threats, or safety concerns
  • Prevent and respond to incidents involving trespassing, loitering, theft, or disorderly conduct
  • Monitor security cameras, alarms, and access control systems as assigned
  • Respond to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or threats to safety
  • Contact law enforcement or EMS when necessary
  • Complete detailed Daily Activity Reports (DARs), Incident Reports, and shift hand-off notes
  • Maintain professionalism and follow all company and site-specific policies and procedures

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid BSIS Guard Card (Required)
  • Valid California Firearm Permit (Required)
  • Must possess own firearm and duty belt
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior armed security, law enforcement, military, or high-risk security experience preferred
  • Strong observational skills and situational awareness
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to stand and patrol for extended periods
  • Must pass background screening and comply with all company policies

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to operate radios and assigned security equipment
  • Visual and auditory awareness for monitoring surroundings
