Job description

District: Manson NW Webster

Location: Junior/Senior High School

Description: The MNW JH/HS is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Custodian.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Must have good communication skills, be flexible, and patient.
  • Maintain an environment in the workplace safe and conducive to student learning according to custodial and school schedules.
  • Assist with meal preparation and serving
  • Assure exceptional cleanliness in the school facilities
  • Perform work and use equipment including but not limited to: cleaning agents, various floor care machines, vacuums, hand tools, yard equipment, ladders, snow removal machines, scaffolding, and furniture and equipment dollies.
  • Removes Trash
  • Clean/sanitize desk/table tops, door handles, restroom fixtures
  • Clean glass
  • Dust horizontal surfaces, clocks, overhead screens, blinds
  • Clean & Sanitize Restrooms
  • Dust Mopping/Wet mopping of floors, spot cleaning of carpets and hard flooring
  • Assist with deep cleaning during break periods-stripping, scrub & recoat, carpet extraction, cleaning restrooms, glass, and furniture
  • Assist with delivery of supplies
  • Vacuum and Properly maintain equipment
  • Request and stock supplies
  • Complete as many minor repair jobs as materials, tools and time permit.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and accomplish assigned work.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a team to complete tasks and meet goals.
  • Ability to recognize problems, determine causes, and take appropriate action for resolution.
  • Ability to take direction and respond to requests in a courteous and helpful manner.
  • Basic knowledge required to identify building conditions and/or chemicals which could be hazardous.
  • Knowledge of how to safely use, post notice, and dispose of chemicals.
  • Knowledge of the basic techniques of floor maintenance, including carpet, tile, and terrazzo.
  • Knowledge in wall and window surface maintenance is preferred.
