About Us

We are a vertically integrated affordable housing company developing, building, and managing our own communities across Georgia, Texas, and Florida. With approximately 18 properties currently in our portfolio and an active development pipeline concentrated in Florida, we control the full lifecycle of every project, from land acquisition through construction to long-term operations.

The Role

We're seeking a Director of Construction to lead new construction across our growing portfolio, with a strong emphasis on our Florida development pipeline. This role oversees all phases of construction budgeting, scheduling, quality control, subcontractor management, and compliance for multifamily and high-rise affordable housing developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct construction operations for multiple simultaneous projects across GA, TX, and FL, with primary focus on Florida builds
  • Oversee ground-up construction of high-rise multifamily properties from permitting through certificate of occupancy
  • Manage general contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program requirements, including cost certification, and agency inspection standards
  • Partner with development and asset management teams to align construction timelines with financing, lease-up, and compliance milestones
  • Manage project budgets, draw schedules, change orders, and construction loan draws
  • Conduct regular site visits and quality inspections across the portfolio
  • Maintain relationships with state housing finance agencies, local municipalities, and inspection authorities
  • Identify and mitigate construction risk, cost overruns, and schedule delays

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of construction management experience, including direct experience with high-rise / mid-rise multifamily construction
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program and affordable housing compliance requirements
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent construction projects across multiple states preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction budgets, draw processes, and GC/subcontractor management
  • Familiarity with GA, TX, and/or FL building codes and permitting processes a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
  • Willingness to travel across GA, TX, and FL as needed
