Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Instructor

CERT, LLC – Northern Virginia (Fairfax / Chantilly)

Position Type: Part-Time / Full-Time / Seasonal
Compensation: $25.00 – $40.00 per hour (based on experience, qualifications, and instructional performance)

Position Overview:
CERT is seeking motivated, professional, and highly capable EMT Instructors to deliver high-quality education and training to EMT students. Instructors are responsible for creating a structured, disciplined, and engaging learning environment that emphasizes skill mastery, clinical decision-making, and leadership under pressure.
This role goes beyond teaching—it requires mentorship, accountability, and a commitment to producing graduates who are prepared to perform in real patient care environments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver classroom instruction and hands-on skills training in accordance with CERT standards and curriculum.
  • Facilitate skill labs with a focus on repetition, precision, and competency-based progression.
  • Lead or assist in scenario-based training that reinforces patient assessment, treatment, and leadership.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide clear, direct, and constructive feedback.
  • Ensure all students meet competency requirements before advancing.
  • Maintain a structured, professional, and distraction-free learning environment.
  • Uphold and enforce CERT policies, including uniform, conduct, and performance standards.
  • Serve as a role model for professionalism, communication, and patient care.
  • Collaborate with leadership to maintain consistency across all training sessions.
Qualifications:
  • Current National Registry EMT (NREMT) certification (Paramedic preferred but not required).
  • Active Virginia EMT certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Field experience preferred, but not required.
