ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY: The Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is currently seeking two undergraduate or graduate student assistants to support a Virus Assembly Research Project. The selected students will work under the supervision of Dr. Siyu Li in the Department of Physics and Astronomy.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

  • This position will assist with one or more of the following activities:
  • Perform molecular dynamics simulations.
  • Analyze and visualize simulation data.
  • Assist with the development of theoretical models.
  • Perform high-performance computing workflows.
  • Review and relate experimental work.
  • Contribute to the preparation of research reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
  • Participate in group meetings and collaborative research discussions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a current Cal Poly Pomona student in good standing.
  • Experience with programming (Python, C/C++, or similar).
  • Completed relevant coursework in statistical mechanics, thermodynamics, biophysics, or a closely related area.
  • Demonstrate creativity, initiative, excellent written and communication skills.

PREFERRED:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Majors in Physics & Astronomy
