With clients in over 150 countries and offices on six continents, youโ€™ll get exposed to different cultures, people, and business development happening around the world.**Tax Specialist**Fiduciary Trust International (FTI) is hiring a Tax Specialist to join its high-net-worth tax services team in NYC. In this preparation-focused role the Tax Specialist will primarily prepare federal, state, and local individual income tax returns and related workpapers for high-net-worth individuals and families. The Tax Specialist will work directly with Senior Tax Accountants and other members of the tax team.**How You Will Add Value*** Prepare federal, state, and local individual income tax returns for high-net-worth clients, including Form 1040 and multi-state filings.* Prepare and maintain supporting tax workpapers; reconcile source documents to the workpapers and tax return; and clearly document open items for review.* Use CCH Scan and AutoFlow to organize tax documents and transfer information into CCH Axcess Tax, then review and clean up imported data for accuracy and completeness.* Identify missing, incomplete, or inconsistent information and communicate routine document requests, status updates, and basic tax questions to clients and internal partners under senior oversight.* Prepare estimated tax calculations, extensions, payment vouchers, and supporting schedules, and assist with the tax payment process.* Maintain return tracking, monitor assigned deadlines, and coordinate workflow to help ensure returns and related deliverables are completed on time.* Assist with tax notices, amended returns, and routine federal and state tax authority inquiries.* Collate completed tax returns and supporting documents for client delivery and signature, and organize electronic tax documents and files.* Assist with gift tax, partnership, and private foundation returns as assigned; prior exposure to these return types is a plus.* Support other tax compliance projects and process-improvement initiatives as needed.**What Will Help You Be Successful*** Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field.* 2-4 years of tax preparation experience, preferably in public accounting, private client tax, or wealth management tax services.* Experience preparing federal and state individual income tax returns; exposure to high-net-worth and multi-state returns is strongly preferred.* Experience with gift tax, partnership, or private foundation returns is a plus.* Experience with CCH Axcess Tax and CCH Scan is preferred.* Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook.* Strong analytical, organizational, and follow-up skills, with careful attention to detail.* Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to handle routine tax matters professionally with clients and internal partners.* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.* Ability to work additional hours, including some weekends, during peak filing periods, generally from late February through mid-April and from September through mid-October.**Work Schedule & Location:** This role is based in New York, NY and operates under a hybrid working model, blending in-office collaboration with remote work flexibility.Franklin Templeton offers employees a competitive and valuable range of total rewardsโ€”monetary and non-monetary โ€” designed to support their well-being and recognize their time, talents, and results.
