Job description

Hidden Valley Country Club is seeking an energetic, hospitality-driven Food & Beverage Manager to lead and oversee all food and beverage service operations throughout the Club. This hands-on leadership position is responsible for delivering exceptional member and guest experiences while managing multiple service outlets, driving operational excellence, and leading a high-performing team.
The Food & Beverage Manager will oversee daily operations of the Club's restaurant and bar, pool snack bar and pool bar, two on-course beverage carts, and all member dining and social events. This individual will work closely with the Executive Chef, Golf Operations team, and Club leadership to ensure a consistent, elevated hospitality experience across all outlets.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized, service-focused leader with experience managing multiple revenue centers in a private club, resort, hotel, or upscale hospitality environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
  • Direct and oversee all front-of-house food and beverage operations.
  • Manage the Club restaurant, bar, pool snack bar, pool bar, and beverage cart operations.
  • Ensure all outlets operate in accordance with Troon and Hidden Valley Country Club service standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor service execution and continuously identify opportunities to improve the member experience.
  • Ensure proper opening, closing, and cash handling procedures are consistently followed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.

Member Experience & Hospitality
  • Deliver exceptional hospitality and personalized service to members and guests.
  • Foster a culture centered on service excellence, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Address member concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the Club during operating hours.
  • Collaborate with Club leadership to enhance member programming and dining experiences.

Events & Programming
  • Lead execution of all Hidden Valley Country Club member events.
  • Coordinate staffing, service plans, room setups, timelines, and operational logistics for Club events.
  • Work closely with culinary and operational teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Participate in planning and development of new dining and social experiences that drive member engagement.

Team Leadership
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop front-of-house associates.
  • Create and manage staff schedules based on business levels and labor budgets.
  • Conduct regular performance coaching and associate evaluations.
  • Foster a positive and productive team culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety procedures, and service standards.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Manage beverage inventory, ordering, receiving, and monthly inventory processes.
  • Monitor labor costs, beverage costs, and operating expenses.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Analyze operational performance and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Ensure proper inventory controls are maintained across all outlets.
  • Support month-end reporting and financial review processes.

Qualifications
Required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive Food & Beverage management experience.
  • Experience managing multiple food and beverage outlets simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver high levels of hospitality and member satisfaction.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with inventory management and labor scheduling.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and POS systems.

Preferred
  • Private club, resort, hotel, or upscale restaurant experience.
  • Troon, Club Essential, Jonas, Northstar, or similar hospitality software experience.
  • Food safety certification and alcohol service certification.
  • Experience leading member events, tournaments, and social programming.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform physical tasks associated with food and beverage operations.
