Description

Join an independent, non-profit, and award-winning critical access hospital and make an immediate impact in the charming rural communities of the beautiful Driftless Region of Southwest Wisconsin!

Vernon Health in Viroqua, WI is looking for a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join its collaborative Family Medicine team. This regular part-time position involves providing high-quality patient care to our dynamic rural communities while working a schedule consisting of 10-hour shifts in the clinics, rotating days based on needs.

This role is perfect for an experienced or recently graduated APP looking to make an immediate difference in a primary care setting while gaining competency through collaboration with our forward-thinking family practice physician team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive primary care to patients across all age groups in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Perform assessments, physical exams, diagnostics, and treatment plans for a variety of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatments, and preventive care, primarily in a modern and progressive clinic setting.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record system.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and quality of care.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current certification as a PA-C or NP and licensure to practice in Wisconsin (or ability to obtain.)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required, PALS and ATLS certifications preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
