Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) – Part-Time or Full-Time


Description

We are currently hiring for both part-time and full-time positions. Available hours will vary based on client needs and your availability.

ONLY APPLY IF YOU MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Active RBT certification OR at least 6 months of prior ABA experience and willingness to obtain RBT certification
  • Available Monday–Friday within the general service window of approximately 8:00 AM–6:30 PM
  • Reliable transportation and active car insurance
  • Comfortable traveling to clients' homes and schools
  • Prior experience providing ABA therapy
  • Interested in either part-time or full-time employment


Location: Round Rock, North Austin, Central Austin, and South Austin

Shaping Steps ABA is a BCBA-owned, in-home ABA agency serving families across the Austin area. We are hiring an RBT or experienced Behavior Technician who is comfortable working in family homes and schools and committed to providing high-quality, consistent services.

Position Overview

This role involves providing 1:1 ABA therapy in clients' homes or private schools under weekly, in-person BCBA supervision. Sessions typically range from 2–4 hours.

Each client receives weekly, in-person BCBA supervision. During the initial training period, typically up to 2 weeks, the BCBA is present for sessions, with support gradually fading as the technician demonstrates competency and confidence.

A company iPad and clinical software are provided for data collection and scheduling. You will not be required to use your personal phone or paper data systems.

Responsibilities

  • Implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans
  • Collect and record data accurately
  • Complete session documentation
  • Maintain professionalism in family homes and schools
  • Collaborate with the supervising BCBA

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active RBT certification OR at least 6 months of ABA experience and willingness to obtain RBT certification
  • Reliable transportation and active car insurance
  • CPR certification or willingness to obtain during onboarding

Preferred:

  • Experience providing in-home ABA therapy
  • College degree completed or in progress
  • Individuals pursuing BCBA certification

Fieldwork supervision hours are available for qualified individuals pursuing BCBA certification.

RBT Pathway for Behavior Technicians

If hired as a Behavior Technician:

  • RBT certification is encouraged to expand caseload variety and opportunities for additional hours
  • Company provides access to Hi Rasmus 40-hour training
  • Application and exam fees reimbursed after 4 months of employment
  • 40-hour RBT training is completed on personal time
