Our REVIT Electrical Designers at Kiewit are key contributors to the development of complex electrical power distribution and control systems for largescale industrial facilities. In this role, you will translate engineering intent into highly coordinated, constructible electrical designs using advanced 3D modeling in REVIT and Smartplant 3D.  You'll work across mediumvoltage and lowvoltage systems, grounding and bonding networks, cable routing strategies, lighting and photometric layouts, and equipment integration for processdriven environments. Our Electrical and I&C  design teams at Kiewit, contribute to major projects every day and are central to realiablity, safety and constructability for critical and complex facilities.  Our Industrial Market is expanding due to new work in Hyperscale Data Centers, and increased work in the Water/Wastewater and Campus/Industrial energy sectors of our business.  We hire designers for a career, and offer educational assistance and hands on mentoring and development to grow your skills to become an expert in electrical design.

Location

This position can be based out of locations where we have Kiewit offices (Lenexa, KS, Lone Tree CO, Bloomington MN, Houston TX).  We offer relocation assistance to our Lenexa, Kansas district office only.  

Please note:   To work fully remote, in our Bloomington or Houston office, we are looking for Senior Designers only *(10 years and up) with 10+ years in REVIT or Smartplant 3D.

Responsibilities

Utilize Revit 3D (primarily) and Smartplant 3D design tools to design and draft drawings for electrical systems for buildings and industrial facilities. 

Key Deliverables include:  Power distribution diagrams, electrical schematics, One-line diagrams, 3D models, load lists, panel schedules, cable and equipment sizing coordination with engineers, power plans, lighting plans, lightening protection, raceway and conduit routing plants, cable tray layouts, lighting plans and power plans, grounding layouts, cable tray and conduit modeling, 3D equipment layouts,  (Transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFD's), model based quantity takeoffs, clash detection and coordination with other disciplines. 

Utilize codes and standards to complete assignments with little supervision

Identifies changes in the scope of work during a small project and produces design changes as needed to stay within budget and schedule.   More Senior Designers may lead projects and other designers.  

Takes initiative to meet or exceed the quality and expected outcome requirements of internal and external customers. 

Performs assigned work efficiently and effectively to maximize productivity, while complying with company standards to produce quality deliverables. 

Qualifications

    High School diploma or GED and minimum of 5+ years' related electrical design with 5 years in REVIT or Smartplant 3D
    For more Senior level designers, a minimum of 10 years using either REVIT and/or Smartplant 3D.    
   Works collaboratively across departments and involves others in solving problems. Initiates meetings within own team, other disciplines or internal customers for clarity on work.
   Supports project teams and departments with design support for drawings, specifications, IO Lists.  Works well with other to accomplish common goals and objectives.  Understanding of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE standards.
   Able to manage multiple responsibilities with set expectations and meet deadlines.  Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.  Detail oriented and a strong team player
   Experience working with multi-disciplined teams, and subcontractors for equipment. Experience with design for construction preferred; Design/Build, EPC project experience preferred.

Base Compensation: $72,000 - $120,000 
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
