Job description

Henner Tank Lines, Inc., a leading contract carrier, is currently seeking local Class-A drivers to join our team. As an employee-owned and locally operated company, we value our drivers as integral members of our family, not just as numbers in an out-of-state operation.
AM and PM shifts are open in our San Diego terminal. We offer full-time employment at Four-on- three-off standard schedules. We have some flexibility in schedule options if you have special circumstances - first come, first served! Henner Tank Lines maintains year-round steady work. San Diego terminal  Shifts hourly pays from $33/hr - $38/hr, plus overtime, depending on shift selection, and an added monthly safety performance bonus of $2/hr for every safe hour worked, we pay overtime on our bonuses as well - bonus paid monthly. We pay double time on company-observed holidays. Full weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday included) pay $1 more per hour on top of the regular pay. All trucks are late-model Peterbilts with Beall tanks- some of the nicest in the industry.
Available Shifts:
  • Am Shift (Friday to Monday ) start time 3 AM, Starting wage $34 p/h plus $2 p/h safety bonus.
Job Type: Full-time.
Salary: $33.00 to $38.00 /hour.
Additional Safety Bonus:
$2.00 /hour.
PRIOR FUEL EXPERIENCE? LET US KNOW!
Requirements:
  • Three years of verifiable Class-A driving experience.
  • A current tanker endorsement.
  • A current hazmat endorsement.
  • Doubles /Triples endorsement.
  • A valid TWIC card.
  • A current Medical Certificate.
  • Pass a DOT Drug Test.
  • Ability to conduct all operations safely.
  • Requires getting into and out of the truck frequently.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move 70 lbs. regularly.
  • A tanker driver must also be physically able to load and unload the tanker.

Responsibilities:
  • The Petroleum Product Tanker Driver's responsibilities include safe product handling, product quality assurance, and product transportation consistent with regulatory compliance and company operating goals. 
  • The Petroleum Product Tanker Driver is responsible for the pick-up and drop-off of Petroleum Products. 
  • The driver must keep the truck properly maintained and must follow all safe driving regulations.
  • Maintains communication with dispatch as to any delays or issues during the route/shift.
  • Performs a daily DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspection checklist, informing maintenance personnel of any issues.
  • Maintains a daily, legible DOT E log.
  • Neatly maintains the vehicle.
  • Comply with all company safety & performance standards.
