Summary
The Helper will assist electricians and electrical technicians in various tasks related to electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance. You will work under the supervision of experienced electrical professionals and provide support to ensure the smooth execution of electrical projects. Your role will involve assisting with equipment setup, material handling, conducting basic electrical tasks, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist Electricians: Provide assistance to electricians and electrical technicians in performing electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks. Follow their instructions and work under their supervision to ensure the completion of assigned tasks.
  • Material Handling: Help in the transportation, handling, and organization of electrical materials, tools, and equipment. Ensure that all materials are properly stored and readily accessible for the electricians.
  • Equipment Setup: Assist in setting up and assembling electrical equipment, fixtures, and components. This may include lighting fixtures, switchboards, control panels, and other electrical devices.
  • Wiring and Cabling: Assist in running and securing electrical wiring and cables according to instructions provided by electricians. Ensure proper routing, fastening, and labeling of wiring and cables.
  • Installation Support: Aid in the installation of electrical devices, outlets, switches, and other electrical components. Follow instructions to properly connect and secure electrical connections.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), maintain a clean work area, and promptly report any safety concerns or hazards to the electricians.

Position Requirements
  • Position requires extended hours, which will vary depending on job and site requirements. Each job will require their own specific hours of operation.
  • May need to work weekends if business needs require
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function

Physical & Cognitive Requirements
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
  • Must be able to traverse in all weather conditions and work in extreme temperatures
  • Will sit in a chair on a computer, at times, for more than 8 hours / day
  • Must be able to stand and walk continuously through shift
  • Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), respirator, when required
  • May be exposed to dust, fumes, and odoriferous working conditions
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function

Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and components is preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to learn and work under the guidance of experienced electricians.
