Job description

We are looking for a Maintenance Helper to join our team!

Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM + overtime

Pay: $19.40/hour

Department Purpose:

The Maintenance Department purpose is to perform excellent maintenance care to keep our equipment and operating systems healthy and operating at their highest potential. We strive to eliminate potential safety issues and maintain high professional work standards. We must support and work with production, quality, and other support departments, in any way possible, to reach our company production goals. We must support using Mendomi as well as provide the best customer support that we can offer. By doing these things we can provide "the best" quality maintenance support while keeping our cost under or within budget.

Position Purpose:

To aid the Maintenance department as they provide maintenance and service to electrical and mechanical production machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds in accordance with state and federal regulations as well as company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Replace and torque bolts as needed in the production area.
  • Five-S and Two-S equipment.
  • Retrieve spare parts as necessary for the Maintenance team.
  • Change filters as assigned by the Maintenance ATL or above.
  • Change fluids as assigned by the Maintenance ATL or above.
  • Assist Maintenance Associates as directed by the Maintenance ATL or above.
  • Follow the preventive maintenance program and prioritize tasks according to the assigned work schedule to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Adjust and revise preventive maintenance schedule based on part lifecycle and usage.
  • Track inventory levels of maintenance materials, supplies and repair parts. Report inventory status to Supervisor in a timely manner to ensure replenishment of parts.
  • Practice and encourage two-way communication in the department between all levels of Associates.
  • Ensure thorough understanding and implementation of workplace rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, & Abilities:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • A two-year technical degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations relative to plant operation and maintenance with a good understanding of general safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Must be familiar with various types of lubricants and correct application.
  • Proficient in the use of measurement tools including dial indicators, calipers, and micrometers as well as the use and operation of shop power tools.
  • Experience with welding, use of cutting equipment, metal fabrication, use of simple tools, fasteners, torque and good math skills is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • The Associate frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The Associate is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The Associate must occasionally lift and/or move at least 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
