Position Summary
The Industrial Process Pipefitter / Pipe Welder (Lead) is responsible for leading the installation, fabrication, repair, and maintenance of industrial piping systems. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with field leadership, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate industrial piping installation projects
  • Install, fit, fabricate, and weld piping systems, including large- and small-bore pipe
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and P&ID schematics
  • Plan upcoming work activities and coordinate daily crew assignments
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and other trades on job sites
  • Support the installation and maintenance of boilers, chillers, and cooling tower systems
  • Perform rigging and material handling for piping systems and equipment
  • Ensure all work meets project specifications, codes, safety requirements, and quality standards
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and training to field personnel
  • Monitor productivity and support successful project execution
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Experience & Technical Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial piping, pipefitting, or related experience
  • Strong experience working with:
    • Carbon steel piping
    • Stainless steel piping and tubing
    • PVC and copper piping systems
    • Welded and threaded piping systems
  • Experience preparing, fitting, and installing large-bore weld pipe
  • Knowledge of fitting takeoffs for threaded and welded systems
  • TIG and Stick welding experience preferred
  • Experience with boilers, chillers, and cooling tower systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and P&ID schematics
  • Knowledge of industrial rigging practices and equipment handling procedures

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Must possess essential hand tools required for the trade
