POSITION DESCRIPTION

St. Catherine's School is an Episcopal day school for girls in Richmond, Virginia, founded in 1890 enrolling roughly 950 girls in Early Learners (age 3) through Grade 12. Located on a 16-acre campus in the western part of the city, St. Catherine's core values include pursuing academic excellence, developing character, nurturing spiritual growth, celebrating individuals, and building community.

POSITION OVERVIEW 

St. Catherine's School seeks a Director of The St. Catherine's Fund. Reporting to the Director of Development, this position will help grow The St. Catherine's Fund, the School's Annual Giving program.  The Director of The St. Catherine's Fund will be a key member of the Development team, working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and parent and alumnae volunteers.

Supervisor: Director of Development

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A 

Position Status: Salaried, exempt, full-time, 12-month schedule

Hours of Work: Mon-Friday; standard work week

Expected Salary: $60,000 - $70,000


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Work collaboratively with development colleagues, administrators, faculty/staff, and alumnae and parent volunteers to carry out effective giving strategies
  • Manage a multi-channel Annual Giving strategy that includes direct marketing, social media, print and email campaigns to grow the number of donors and dollars raised
  • Manage a portfolio of leadership prospects for The St. Catherine's Fund
  • Manage St. Catherine's Give Day, our busiest day for The St. Catherine's Fund
  • Serve as the contact for our online giving platform
  • Steward and serve as point of contact for the network of alumnae, parent and grandparent volunteers who serve as volunteers for The St. Catherine's Fund. This includes the identification, recruitment, and training of volunteers, clearly communicating expectations, goals, and metrics, managing telethons and volunteer activities, and ongoing cultivation and stewardship
  • Manage the stewardship and acknowledgement of gifts to The St. Catherine's Fund
  • Serve as a back-up for our Gift Processor, entering gifts into Raiser's Edge database when needed
  • Run reports and analyze data to create strategies to grow The St. Catherine's Fund
  • Support and attend major special events of the School, particularly those sponsored by the Development Office. This includes working occasional nights and weekends
  • Aid development colleagues in the cultivation and stewardship of donors and prospects
  • Assist in the Annual Report process
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information


PREFERRED:

  • Experience using leading technologies such as Google Suite

The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  Ability to become CPR and First Aid Certified.

  • Background in managing an Annual Giving program
  • Experience with volunteer management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience using Raiser's Edge, RE NXT, and Givecampus preferred
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, depending on circumstances
