Position Summary

The Panel Build Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing industrial electrical control panels and electronic subassemblies used in industrial systems. This includes interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials; mounting and connecting components; and ensuring panels meet quality, safety, and performance specifications. 
Key Responsibilities 
•    Assemble and wire electrical control panels following schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings. 
•    Mount, connect, and secure electrical/electronic components (relays, breakers, PLCs, power supplies, VFDs, sensors, terminals). 
•    Cut, strip, crimp, route, and bundle wires to meet wiring and workmanship standards. 
•    Conduct continuity, functional, and safety checks on completed assemblies. 
•    Inspect work for quality and labeling accuracy 
•    Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and BOMs; maintain as-built documentation. 
•    Operate hand tools and power tools (drills, strippers, crimpers, torque tools). 
•    Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and QA inspectors to resolve build discrepancies. 
•    Support material handling, receiving, kitting, and general shop activities when needed. 

Job Requirements
Education & Experience
  •  High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1–3 years experience in electrical assembly, industrial wiring, or control panel build
  •  Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. 
  •  Familiarity with standard control panel components (contactors, relays, VFDs, PLCs). 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. 
  • Basic understanding of UL508A, NEC, or related electrical standards (preferred).   

Physical Requirements & Work Environment 
Standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs as needed. Work performed in a production/shop environment with exposure to noise, tools, and moving equipment.
