Job description

POSITION TITLE: Data Manager (Office Support II)  REPORTS TO: Principal and Secretary/Treasurer BEGINNING DATE: Open Until Filled

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Skilled in the operation of technologically current microcomputer equipment and peripherals
  • Knowledge of student accounting procedures and regulations
  • Knowledge of source data and operations of school from which source data originates
  • Ability to independently exercise judgment in correcting data errors or omissions

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Computer skills, FAX machine, printers, computer networking system, electronic calculator, optical mark scanners, and photocopier.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  12 months

SALARY:  Salary Grade 57

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Operating microcomputers, optical mark scanners, and printers.
  2. Understanding the constraints of the student information management system in order to identify and correct data errors and to generate federal, state, and local reports effectively.
  3. Reviewing source documents and computer listings for the purposes of identifying and correcting data.
  4. Entering and reporting data with extra care and constant attention to the security of confidential student information.
  5. Entering data with accuracy at high speed given consideration for time required for judgment and the difficulty of transcribing and verifying source data.
  6. Handling all incoming/outgoing facsimiles.
  7. Helping with receipting money from teachers during the school day.
  8. Assisting secretary/treasurer with any other duties assigned.
  9. Explaining school policy to parents both on the telephone and in person.
  10. Assisting teachers with copy work and supplies.
  11. Performing other duties, as necessary, to assist with school administration.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms routinely.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, carry, push, or pull.
  • Ability to carry furniture such as tables and chairs, supplies and materials
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds routinely and 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to facilitate the evacuation of students during emergency situations and/or drills.
  • Must be able to visually and auditorily effectively communicate with staff and others.
  • Must be able to tolerate a noisy, busy work environment with occasional very loud noises.
