Job description

We are a charming French bakery and bistro café offering both indoor and outdoor dining. We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to support a clean, efficient kitchen and is eager to learn in a welcoming environment. No prior certifications are required - training will be provided.

SCHEDULE: 8:30am-1:30pm, Wednesday through Sunday (Days off: Monday & Tuesday)

IN SEASON REQUIREMENT: Availability to work up to 6 days per week, with one day off, as business dictates. Schedule will be communicated in advance.

PAY: $17/hour

REPORTS TO: Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Wash dishes, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing area and kitchen
  • Assist with basic food prep tasks as needed
  • Dispose of trash and recycling in accordance with safety standards
  • Help maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment
  • Support kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations during busy service times
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous kitchen or dishwashing experience is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment requirements, including background screening

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 5–6 hours per shift)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds (dish racks, supplies, etc.)
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand motions
  • Ability to work in a warm, fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Manual dexterity to safely handle dishes, equipment, and cleaning tools
  • Must have the ability to consistently arrive at work for all scheduled shifts as assigned
