Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

Join a high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing operation as a Machine Operator, where you will run production equipment that manufactures precision, stackable components used in critical defense applications. You will work on a stable 12‑hour Panama schedule (2-2-3 rotation) on either permanent day or night shift, supporting continuous production while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of manufacturing experience in environments such as assembly, machine operation, production, racking, or similar roles.
• Demonstrated ability to operate production or manufacturing machinery safely and efficiently.
• Experience working in a fast-paced production setting with daily output or efficiency targets.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and standard operating procedures.
• Proficiency in using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to check product dimensions.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for monitoring tool wear, checking oil levels, and performing routine machine maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting quality standards.
• Ability to maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Willingness and ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating Panama schedule.
• Consistent adherence to safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment.

Work Environment

You will work in an industrial manufacturing environment that is not temperature controlled, so it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The facility is relatively clean for an industrial plant, but the floors can be slippery due to oil produced by the machinery in a 24/7 operation. Proper personal protective equipment is required to help ensure safe walking and working conditions. The role follows a 12-hour Panama (2-2-3) rotation with four crews supporting around-the-clock production. Day shift runs from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and night shift runs from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with employees remaining on a consistent shift rather than rotating between days and nights.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ypsilanti, MI.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
