Job Description

The Machine Operator sets up and operates a production line that cuts and forms pre-converted abrasive rolls using computer-controlled equipment and manual tooling. This role ensures products meet exact specifications through precise measurements, visual inspections, and accurate tracking of production output.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the production line that cuts and forms pre-converted abrasive rolls according to job specifications.
  • Change programs on computer-controlled machines to run the correct jobs and ensure proper settings are applied.
  • Manually change tools and cutters to set up jobs in line with production specifications and requirements.
  • Perform accurate measurements of finished products using a tape measure to verify adherence to specifications.
  • Conduct thorough visual inspections of finished products to identify defects and confirm quality standards.
  • Count, track, and log production numbers consistently and accurately for each job run.
  • Perform machine set up and changeovers efficiently to support smooth transitions between jobs.
  • Use die cutting equipment or similar machinery to process materials as required.
  • Monitor machine operation throughout the shift to maintain safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with team members and follow established procedures to meet production schedules and output goals.

Essential Skills

  • 1–3 years of machine operation experience involving multi-step processes.
  • Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure for precise measurements.
  • Strong attention to detail with experience performing visual inspections for quality control.
