Job Description
An established specialty manufacturing company is seeking a dependable Traverse Machine Operator to support production on 2nd shift. This role is responsible for setting up and operating traverse/slitting equipment, monitoring product quality, packing finished materials, and completing basic production documentation. Training is available for candidates who are reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment. This is a strong fit for someone who can follow written instructions, maintain a safe work area, and work independently once trained.
Responsibilities:
• Load stock material according to customer specifications and thread material through the winder
• Set and monitor machine speed to ensure material is cutting and winding properly
• Inspect product during operation to ensure film, tape, or material is aligned and meeting quality standards
• Remove finished spools, pack product in boxes or on pallets, and keep the work area clean and organized
• Complete production tickets and document machine hours, downtime, and other required production information
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience required
• Ability to read and follow written work instructions, training materials, and safety procedures
• Basic math skills and strong attention to accuracy when completing paperwork
• Ability to recognize quality issues and communicate production, quality, or maintenance concerns
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend as needed, and lift materials such as spools during the shift
