SUMMARY:
Directs, organizes, plans, and assigns activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment to ensure production operations. Directs installation of, modification to, and maintenance activities on the physical structures of buildings and building equipment such as heat electric, gas, and air by performing the following duties personally or through assistant personnel. Responsible for the implementation of all policies, practice, and procedures pertaining to maintenance of department personnel. Frequent contacts with all internal departments, and with service and supply of companies, contractors, and outside engineers and other personnel. Responsible for coordinating and maintaining overall facility upkeep and maintenance operations
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedules the predictive, preventive and breakdown maintenance and installation of machines, tools, and equipment by maintenance personnel, and contractors and ensures that all work is performed in a safe, proper and cost effective manner to ensure continuous production operations.
Supervises necessary outside maintenance services and inspects and approves the billing of services.
Assists the Facilities Director in the preparation of multi department budgets and managers the expenditure of budgeted funds.
Reviews job orders through use of the CMMS to determine work priorities and the success of departmental objectives.
Manages the activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to improve existing processes and directs the installation of plant support equipment.
Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide a continuous supply of heat, electric power, gas, water and/or air conditioning required for operations.
Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with Division safety and operational standards.
Plans, develops, and implements new maintenance methods and procedures designed to improve operations, decrease operating costs, and greater utilize of labor and materials. This includes further development of a TPM preventive maintenance program in conjunction with other internal departments.
Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for maintenance operations.
Directs the ongoing training of the maintenance staff to ensure the continuous improvement of their work-related skills and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Reviews technical articles, catalogs, and manuals to select or recommend improvements in maintenance operations.
Maintains files on master blueprints, both electronic and/or hard copy) maintenance records, and machinery and equipment manuals.

MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of supervisory and non-supervisory personnel. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, coaching and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in management or equivalent field preferred; five plus years' experience in a machining, manufacturing, production environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong skills in work planning and scheduling. CNC controls, CNC maintenance and machining experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics for a variety of audiences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to comprehend and apply the principles of advanced mathematics and statistical theory. Ability to work with complex mathematical and statistical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
