Job description

We currently have an opportunity available for a Maintenance Helper/ Clubhouse Cleaner to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the highest level of cleanliness throughout the Clubhouse, while also assisting with minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, touch-up painting, and other general upkeep as needed.

Who we are:

Islington Golf Club is a private club founded in 1923, during the "Golden Age" of golf course construction. In 2019, we were awarded Club of the Year by the Canadian Managers Association of Canada. And in 2023, we celebrated our 100th anniversary!

Schedule:

Seasonal until December 20, 2026- There may be an opportunity for permanent full-time employment, subject to business needs.

5 days/week

32-40 hours/week

Your skills & qualifications:

  • Schedule flexibility
  • Previous cleaning experience

Your role:

  • General cleaning of the Clubhouse and the Backshop buildings including all interior and exterior washrooms, emptying of all garbage containers/waste baskets, vacuuming of carpets when required, sweeping of the main patio, booth exterior area, loading dock and upper terrace, mopping floors, cleaning windows, wiping down restaurant chairs and table bases as required
  • Will notify the Lead Hand or Department Manager of any maintenance issues needing attention such as burned-out lightbulbs needing replacement
  • Will assist the lady’s locker room attendant with laundry duties
  • Minor maintenance tasks such as: changing light bulbs, painting, coil cleaning, filter replacement etc.
  • Repositions furniture to original floor plans
  • Unlocks exterior doors each morning
  • Reports any damage, burned out light bulbs and plumbing problems to the maintenance or housekeeping Manager
  • Replaces any malfunctioning light bulbs
  • Assists in setting up for functions
  • Occasional assistance in the Locker room may be required
  • Other duties as required
