The Design Drafter III is responsible for developing product designs and fabrication drawings packages. This position will design thermal oxidizers manufactured by our Company and other companies. This position will facilitate internal workflow, as required. This position collaborates in person and remotely with Project Management and Engineering professionals to develop design concepts and engineering documents
Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Receives, reviews, and interprets project requirements and design information including but not limited to Scope of Work (SOW), Engineering Specification Reviews (ESR), Calculations, Placement Sketch, Construction Notes, Controls Component Spec (& Control's location on vessel), and Internals order forms to complete designs.
  • Provides a timely and accurate response to all inquiries.
  • Interacts closely with both Project Engineers and Manufacturing Personnel to meet customer needs.
  • Produces 3D Parts, Assemblies, and Layouts created in CAD, General Arrangement (GA) and Fabrication drawings, Bills of Materials, and prototype designs to support customer requirements, using AutoDesk Inventor for modeling and drafting.
  • Makes necessary corrections to existing drawings following quality review process
  • Determines appropriate methods to create drawings using either a CAD template customized to the client's requirements, a standard template designed for the specific type of work, or by updating an existing CAD file.
  • Reviews drawings from other drafters to ensure alignment with scoping and corporate drafting standards.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • An associate degree in Drafting or CAD Technology with 3-5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above (8 years of demonstrated experience in a mechanical engineering field in lieu of degree).
  • Working proficiency with AutoDesk Inventor is required.
  • Prior experience in the Engineering design is helpful.
  • Have a basic understanding of controls and instrumentation, and the ability to take concept to design.
  • Have a basic understanding of welding processes, callouts, and applications.

Positions in this function typically require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.
  • The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job. Visits to our manufacturing facility and suppliers' facilities is required to monitor active projects and address design issues.
  • Compliance with company attendance standards.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
