Job description

The Mathematics and Physics Department of Iona University invites applicants for adjunct positions in Physics for Summer 2026. The successful candidate will teach courses in PHY 101 and/or PHY 102 that each meet twice/week for 5 weeks, with both lecture and lab components. The courses meet in person on Iona's New Rochelle campus. As the successful candidate will be teaching both the lab and lecture sections, these are 5 credit courses and the compensation for teaching will be roughly $6300 per course. The instructor would be provided with the course textbook and a sample syllabus, and there is a lab technician who would help prepare the labs each day. The details of the course timing are:
PHY 101 - General Physics I
Lecture: Tues/Thurs 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, 06/01/2026 - 07/07/2026
Lab: Tues/Thurs 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm, 06/01/2026 - 07/07/2026
PHY 102 - General Physics 2
Lecture: Tues/Thurs 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, 07/08/2026 - 08/12/2026
Lab: Tues/Thurs 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm, 07/08/2026 - 08/12/2026

Graduate Course Rates - $1328-$1562 per credit, based on qualifications
