Job description

Route Helpers assist the driver to deliver product orders and maintain assigned accounts. While this summary provides the basic duties of this position Route Helper employees may be asked to cross-train and assist in other areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Learns and assists with all of the driver's duties, including vehicle maintenance, delivery, and safety, among others.
  • Develops and maintains an effective rapport with all customers.
  • Stocks shelves and handles out-of-stock and distribution issues.
  • Maintains existing displays and shelf sets and helps build new displays.
  • Monitors freshness of product at each account and ensures rotation or removal to meet company standards.
  • Assists with route schedule to ensure customer deliveries are made on time.
  • Completes training, seminars and classes as assigned.
  • Sells all products in accordance with company guidelines and T.A.B.C. (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission).
  • Performs job duties in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Act.
  • Completes and submits required reports accurately and on time.
  • Assist when needed and during operations with merchandising.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring overall efficiency of all helper operations.
  • Crosstrain in other areas of delivery operation and delivery/sales responsibilities as needed.

  • Good time management skills and an eye for detail.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, or kneel. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposure to frequent sitting. May have to lift up to 50 pounds.
