The Delivery Coordinator will assign company truck drivers for the delivery of product by performing the duties below.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Plans an efficient delivery and pick-up route by assigning trucks according to factors such as length and purpose of the trip, freight requirements and capacity, and preference of delivery method.
  • Estimates date and time of delivery to customer. Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return. Monitors equipment utilization and productivity.
  • Issues keys, record sheets, and bills of lading/invoice copies to drivers.
  • Investigates overdue vehicles and deliveries.
  • Interfaces with customers and other employees to expedite loads or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise.
  • Assists customers in resolving complaints, including escalating them to management when appropriate.
  • Maintains record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses.
  • Assigns helpers to drivers if needed.
  • Operates cash register, when necessary, accurately and efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Operates a forklift when necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to plan delivery routes.
  • Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, MAC21 and other related software.
  • Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Must have a current driver's license and auto liability insurance.
Education and Experience:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Forklift operator certification.
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training; completing levels 1 and 2 of the positional training offered.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and working on the computer or related equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times, occasionally lift/move up to 80 pounds, and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
  • Must be able to use the three point hold when getting into trucks and/or forklifts.
  • May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • The ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods.
  • Must be able to work in various types of weather.
