Duties
Help
As a, Military Funeral Honor Program Coordinator, GS-0301-09. You must perform program development and the coordination of functions for the Military Funeral Honors Program (MFHP), which provides military funeral honor ceremonies for service members and veterans. The position serves as an agency coordinator for the statewide MFHP in promotion and coordination of the program through the education of the State's National Guard, active component, veteran's service organizations, and other Veteran's advocacy groups. Develops, implements, interprets, and publishes SOPs, policies, operating regulations, and procedures. Plans, develops, schedules, and makes recommendations for changes to MFHP. Responsible for creating a cooperative network of agencies, organizations, and individuals whose interactions can lead to an improved Military Funeral Honors Program.

• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• National Guard Membership is required.
• Must possess a valid State driver's license for the State in which they live or are principally employed.

Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1.
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.
Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.
Military Grades: Enlisted: E4 thru E7
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09- Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience , education or training in any position that required compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures.
TEMPORARY PROMOTION- For Title 32 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If a permanent employee in Title 32 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will retain their permanent status AND return to their previous Title 32 position once the incumbent returns from military duty. If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her reemployment rights within 5 years, the selected individual may remain in this position without further competition.
INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-For Current Title 5 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If an on-board individual employed in Title 5 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will be converted to Title 32 and will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3). If a Reduction-In-Force occurs and/or the military tour member exercises reemployment rights to this position, the indefinite appointee will have no reemployment rights to any other position and may be separated. If the military tour member, having reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her rights within 5 years, this position may be converted to a permanent status without further competition.

GS-9: Master's or equivalent graduate degree

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
