What is an heirloom?

In the context of jobs, an heirloom is not a job title itself but refers to an object, asset, or property that is passed down from one generation to another within a family, often as part of an inheritance. Some careers or roles, such as 'heirloom curator' or positions in family-run businesses, may involve managing, preserving, or overseeing heirlooms. These roles require knowledge of the item's history, proper care, and sometimes legal expertise regarding inheritance. Heirlooms can range from jewelry and furniture to businesses and land, and managing them is often crucial for maintaining family heritage.
