Job Title: Water Resources - Senior Project Manager Location: Chantilly, VA

Overview: We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and grow a Water Resources practice, overseeing a diverse portfolio of projects across public and private sectors. This role combines technical expertise, team leadership, and client management to deliver high-quality water resources solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage water resources projects, including stormwater management, floodplain analysis, and dam-related work
  • Perform QA/QC on design documents, models, reports, and permit applications
  • Review hydrologic and hydraulic models (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS)
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables across multiple assignments
  • Manage and mentor project teams, including engineers and junior staff
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to secure approvals
  • Support contract management, including proposals, billing, and client communications
  • Contribute to process improvements and overall practice growth
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in water resources engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (VA required; multi-state preferred)
  • Strong experience in stormwater, floodplain, and/or dam design and permitting
  • Proficiency with H&H modeling tools (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, etc.)
  • Proven experience managing projects, teams, and client relationships
  • Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
