Position Overview
This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of dump trucks, water trucks and or tractor unit (with and without pups, end dumps, belly dumps, lowboys, tanker (trailers) and tarping systems). Drivers will potentially deliver any or all types of aggregates, asphalt, water, construction equipment, AC Oil, and other materials to locations both residential and commercial.
WAGE RANGE: $26 - $29 per hour, dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Thorough operational knowledge and skills of dump trucks, water trucks and or tractor unit (with and without pups, end dumps, belly dumps, lowboys, tanker (trailers) and tarping systems related equipment to be operated.
  • Can operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Must keep time and material records.
  • Must follow verbal and written instruction.
  • Knowledge of different types and sizes of aggregates.
  • Knowledge of different types of construction equipment.
  • Ability for maneuvering and backing with trailer.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively on the radio system.
  • Connect and disconnect trailer.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Work Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.

Certificates, License, Registrations
  • Must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A with appropriate endorsement: Air Brakes, Tanker, Double/Triples, Manual Transmission.
  • Must possess a valid Medical Card as per DOT standard.

Work Requirements
  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Incident free driving record preferred
  • Subject drug and alcohol, medical exams and physical agilities testing.

  • Ability to communicate using two-way radio.
