Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator / Operating Engineer

Company: Landmark Development LLC
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $35.00–$40.00 per hour
Schedule: 40 hours per week with a flexible schedule

Position Summary

Landmark Development, an established site contractor, is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator / Operating Engineer. The successful candidate must have extensive experience operating large bulldozers, hydraulic excavators, and wheel loaders.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and professionally operate heavy construction equipment.
  • Perform grading, clearing, excavation, earthmoving, drainage work, and material handling.
  • Complete assigned site-work activities accurately and efficiently.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
  • Identify and report equipment problems or unsafe conditions.
  • Work independently and coordinate with other workers as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and applicable regulations.

Required Equipment Experience

Applicants must have demonstrated operating experience with the following equipment or comparable models:

  • CAT D6 size dozer or larger
  • Track Excavator (Caterpillar 352 hydraulic excavator size)
  • Caterpillar 944 wheel loader

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of professional heavy-equipment operating experience.
  • Strong proficiency operating bulldozers, excavators, and wheel loaders.
  • Experience with grading, excavation, drainage, clearing, and general site work.
  • Ability to perform basic equipment checks and light maintenance.
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and follow project instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
