Join Our Team
CSSC is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair specialized equipment used in the road striping and pavement marking industry. This position plays a critical role in keeping our fleet and pavement marking equipment operating safely and efficiently to support roadway projects throughout the region.

What You'll Do
Equipment Maintenance & Repairs
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain road striping trucks, fleet vehicles, and specialty pavement marking equipment.
  • Service paint and bead delivery systems, thermoplastic kettles and burners, hydraulic systems, pumps, motors, air compressors, engines, transmissions, brakes, and drivetrains.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Complete major and minor repairs in both shop and field environments.
Field Support
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency service calls at active job sites.
  • Perform on-site repairs to support roadway striping operations.
  • Provide mechanical support during peak striping seasons, including occasional night and weekend work.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and DOT regulations.
  • Ensure equipment is safe, compliant, and ready for deployment.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
Documentation & Communication
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Communicate equipment issues, repair recommendations, and maintenance schedules with supervisors and operations staff.
  • Assist with parts inventory management, ordering, and tracking.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • 2+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, or similar role.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and major equipment repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and repair documentation.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime during peak construction and striping seasons.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
Preferred
  • Experience working with road striping, pavement marking, construction, or specialty equipment.
  • CDL (Commercial Driver's License) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, and roadway construction safety practices.
Skills & Abilities
  • Advanced troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines.
  • Experience with pumps, valves, motors, hoses, fittings, and air compressor systems.
