Job description

We are seeking an experienced heavy diesel mechanic to take the responsibilty for diagnostics, preventative maintenance and repairs to our fleet of waste trucks that are equipped with hydraulic cranes. The successful candidate will work independently, identify mechanical issues before they become major failures and ensure all trucks remain safe, reliable and available for daily operations.


Key Responsibilities include:

Perform and oversee scheduled preventative maintenance on trucks and cranes

Complete inspections, lubrication, fluid checks and electrical system trouble-shooting

Maintain accurate maintenance records and required service documentation

Inspect completed repairs and ensure trucks are safe and ready for use

Maintain a clean, organized and safe workshop


Qualifications:

Several years of hands-on diesel or heavy equipment mechanic experience preferred

Experience with hydraulic, electrical, air-brake systems, are all highly desirable

Crane experience is an asset

Available for days, evenings and Saturdays as scheduling is needed

Valid Drivers License required, CDL an asset
