This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain broad, hands-on experience working alongside experienced civil, structural, geotechnical, and coastal engineers from initial design through construction.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform civil engineering analysis and design for a variety of infrastructure projects, including:
    • Site development and site layout
    • Site grading and drainage
    • Stormwater systems
    • Water and utility infrastructure
    • Roads, access areas, and pavement improvements
    • Waterfront and marine facilities
    • Industrial and heavy civil infrastructure
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, engineering calculations, technical memoranda, and reports.
  • Assist with development of design documents from conceptual and preliminary design through final construction documents.
  • Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop coordinated and constructable civil design drawings.
  • Perform grading, utility, drainage, quantity, and other civil engineering calculations and analyses.
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, geotechnical, coastal, environmental, and permitting professionals as part of multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Participate in field investigations, site assessments, inspections, surveys, and construction observations.
  • Support construction administration activities, including review of submittals, RFIs, contractor questions, and field conditions.
  • Assist with preparation of engineer’s estimates, technical specifications, and bid documents.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, agencies, and other project stakeholders under the direction of experienced engineers.
  • Take on increasing technical and project responsibility as your experience and capabilities grow.
  • Occasionally travel for inspections, site assessments, construction support, and projects in remote locations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam and EIT certification, or ability to obtain EIT certification shortly after hire.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in civil site design, grading, drainage, utilities, transportation, waterfront, marine, or heavy civil infrastructure.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and engineering design software.
  • Civil 3D experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing construction drawings and specifications is preferred.
  • Construction, inspection, or field engineering experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to produce accurate and efficient work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel for fieldwork, inspections, and site assessments.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
