Job description

As a Heating Service Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day servicing of our customers. Your goal will be to troubleshoot and perform diagnostic activities regarding service equipment within our established policies and procedures. Your success is dependent on the quality of work you complete and the satisfaction of our customers' needs.

Your Role:
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot oil and propane-fired boilers, furnaces, water heaters, and oil tanks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems that occur by reviewing diagnostics and using the proper tools to complete repairs
  • Provide final inspections of systems once repairs are completed to ensure all equipment is operating safely
  • Complete appropriate daily paperwork for each service call
  • Maintain daily and yearly inventory
  • Ensure the service truck is in good working order and reliable
  • Perform other duties as required to maintain and enhance departmental productivity
  • Rotational on-call evenings and weekends

Your Skills:
  • Ability to work well with others; good organization and communication skills, attention to detail and strong customer service
  • Frequent driving, climbing in and out of vehicle working in confined spaces, heavy lifting and ability to work at heights ranging up to 50 ft
  • Ability to install various types of heating equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
  • Strong decision-making skills

Your Experience:
  • A valid Propane or natural gas license. Nora Certification is an asset
  • Knowledge of wiring and plumbing is required
  • Heating technician experience considered an asset

The expected hourly range for this position is $25.00-$40.00. Placement within range will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, and skills.
