Position Overview
This is an opportunity to own the design and delivery of high-performance mechanical systems across residential and light commercial projects in the Dallas market. As a Mechanical Engineer (PE), you will lead HVAC and plumbing system design from concept through construction-ensuring efficiency, compliance, and constructability across a diverse project portfolio.
Beyond technical execution, this role offers the chance to collaborate across disciplines and influence project outcomes at every stage. You will work closely with architects, contractors, and engineering teams in a fast-paced, design-focused environment where your expertise directly contributes to project success and client satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for residential and light commercial projects
  • Perform heating and cooling load calculations, system sizing, and engineering analysis
  • Select and specify mechanical equipment, including heat pumps, air handlers, rooftop units, boilers, and pumps
  • Design air distribution systems, including duct sizing, airflow analysis, and static pressure calculations
  • Develop plumbing system designs, including domestic water, sanitary drainage, and venting systems
  • Prepare construction documents, system layouts, and technical specifications
  • Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, ACCA, and local code requirements
  • Develop and maintain Revit MEP models and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (Texas preferred or ability to obtain)
  • 5-8+ years of experience in HVAC and plumbing system design
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP (AutoCAD experience is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of HVAC system design, load calculations, and equipment selection
  • Knowledge of plumbing system design and applicable codes
  • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with residential or multifamily development projects
  • Familiarity with energy codes and high-efficiency system design
  • Experience supporting construction administration and field coordination
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
