Role Description The Licensed Hearing Aid Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Homosassa Springs, FL. In this position, the specialist conducts thorough hearing assessments, interprets results, and recommends appropriate hearing aid solutions tailored to each patient’s needs and lifestyle. Daily responsibilities include performing fittings and adjustments, programming and fine-tuning devices, providing counseling on use and care, and documenting all clinical encounters in an accurate and timely manner. The role involves educating patients and families on hearing health, troubleshooting device issues, coordinating follow-up appointments, and collaborating with other hearing care professionals as needed. The specialist also supports practice growth by maintaining strong patient relationships, participating in community outreach, and upholding high standards of professional ethics and compliance with state regulations.

Qualifications

  • Current state license or eligibility for licensure as a Hearing Aid Specialist in Florida, with adherence to all regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Proficiency in conducting hearing evaluations, interpreting audiometric data, and recommending appropriate hearing aid solutions.
  • Experience with hearing aid fitting, programming, verification, and follow-up care using modern hearing technologies and software.
  • Strong patient communication and counseling skills, with the ability to explain test results, device functions, and care instructions in clear, accessible language.
  • Solid documentation and organizational skills, including maintaining accurate patient records and managing appointment schedules efficiently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical setting, demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and respect for patients and colleagues.
  • Comfort with basic office and practice management tools, including computers, electronic health records, and diagnostic equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced training or relevant certification in hearing healthcare is preferred.
  • Previous experience in hearing care, audiology support, or a related patient-facing healthcare role is beneficial.
