Hearing Instrument Specialist

ย Wolfe Clinic Audiology is seeking a Hearing Instrument Specialist to join our team! This person will provide services in our Marshalltown and Cedar Falls clinics and is a full-time, salaried position with the potential for additional performance-based opportunities. This position enjoys a Monday to Friday schedule and includes both clinical services and hearing aid dispensing.

Our next team member will be a self-motivated person that is passionate about improving lives through better hearing. They will have a strong understanding and commitment to providing outstanding patient care and superior customer service. They will always maintain integrity, honesty, and respect for everyone, providing compassionate counsel while building patient rapport. They must possess strong clinical skills, pay close attention to detail, have excellent communication skills and be able to multitask, adapt, problem solve, and overcome objections.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient diagnostics by administering and interpreting hearing evaluations, gathering pertinent medical history, and performing a thorough examination
  • Educate patients on treatment options, and make recommendations for hearing aids, amplification devices, and assistive listening technologies based on their needs and lifestyle
  • Take ear impressions and prepare, design, and modify ear molds, and order instruments
  • Program, fit, and adjust hearing aids utilizing best practices including real ear measurements
  • Strong commitment to excellent follow-up care for patients and their devices, including the maintenance and repair of devices from a variety of manufacturers

Qualifications:

  • Experience with diagnostic testing and dispensing required
  • Strong computer aptitude including knowledge of software, products, and accessories offered by major hearing technology companies
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Ability to establish professional relationships with patients to create repeat and referral business
  • Must be comfortable with the sales process and possess a desire to grow and expand services
  • Iowa Hearing Aid Specialist applicants must have already completed the International Hearing Society Examination and possess permanent Iowa license
  • Active and current hearing aid dispensing license in the state of Iowa is required
